Bette Stephenson, emeritus member of the Board of Directors for the CIAR, has a multi-faceted background incorporating medicine, politics, provinical government, professional administration and tireless community service. Bette is responsible for establishing "generic" support for the CIAR from the Province of Ontario, support that has withstood changes of government. Bette was also president of the Ontario Medical Association in 1972 and the Canadian Medical Association in 1974.
