Reva was elected to the board of the CIAR in 1989 and became chairperson of the board in 1990. A crucial role during her period as Chairperson was in helping stabilize the Institue for its transition to the next stage. Reva also created two institutions of national renown in the mental health field - the Hinck's Institue and the Gerstein Centre. She is still active at 80 years of age. An extraordinary example of what a citizen can do throughout a lifetime.
